Throughout the course of film history father son combos have defeated galactic empires, survived apocalypses and stepped in to save the family business; few however have been involved in an awkward love triangle including their wife and mother. Yet that’s the mind-bending predicament Marty McFly finds himself in when he inadvertently travels back in time in the brilliant Back to the Future; an Oedipal-lite adventure which could fuel a lifetime on the therapist’s couch.
