Ravi Shankar has died at 92

Ravi Shankar has died at 92. Labelled 'the godfather of world music' by his friend George Harrison (above left), Shankar's career was spent bringing the traditions of Indian music to a worldwide audience.

He died following a surgery that his family hoped could extend his life.
