You've probably twigged that Bond is going to be having a very hard time of it in Skyfall. You've probably seen a review or a tweet with something along the lines of 'Bond is pushed to the brink...' or similar. And that's true. What you might not know is that we actually get to know Bond better in Skyfall. There's a neat plot device that means we have to go right back to the beginning of the Bond character, learning things about his roots and his upbringing that have never made it to the screen before.
