We've been wondering why Robert De Niro has been so keen to lay down roots in repetitive romantic comedies after a career catapulted by Goodfellas, Heat and Taxi Driver triumphs. Maybe the disappearance of the old De Niro could have something to do with him shying away from violence, as he told NYMag: "Personally, I don't like a lot of violence, believe it or not. I always feel that violence should be done in a way that it's believable, real, and justified." Though this isn't always the case, he admitted, "You'd like to think movies have some good intentions with violence, if you will, that there's a reason for it, that it's not gratuitous, but that doesn't always happen."
