Starship Troopers (TBC)

Rumours of a Starship Troopers reboot started floating around a couple of years ago. Made in a similar gory vein to many Paul Verhoeven movies, the original 1997 film divided critics but earned a cult following courtesy of its tongue-in-cheek, campy sensibility.

Around 2011, rumours began surfacing that a remake was in the works from the people who brought us 2012's Total Recall reboot. So far, it seems to be stuck in Hollywood's notorious development hell. But every so often a headline appears suggesting the screenplay's still being worked on.

Loosley based on Robert Heinlein's 1959 novel, the original film saw humans in a fascistic, militaristic future do battle with giant alien bugs in a fight for survival. If rumours are true, the plan is for the reboot to stick a little closer to the source material - with a little less violence and much better CGI.
