It doesn't matter how old he gets, Tom Cruise will always be the overly confident hero who saves the day. While playing a bald and chubby producer in Tropic Thunder surprised us a little, Cruise is more commonly known for his leading roles in Top Gun, Minority Report and the Mission Impossible franchise. He's really the ultimate specimen in pint-sized action men, and has developed a unique talent for running really fast ahead of explosions, without ever looking back at the carnage he's caused. His occasional departure from action movies may have saved him from Jason Statham-esque typecasting (Cruise will soon be appearing as shirtless rock star Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages), but the reality is, being Tom Cruise is a typecast in itself.
