As played by Richard Armitage.

Thorin is one of the Company of Dwarves to accompany Bilbo, however, he's the only dwarf to warrant a surname, so you know he's a big deal. Since Smaug attacked the dwarf kingdom of Erebor, Thorin leads the expedition to reclaim his homeland, treasure (the bounty and Arkenstone belonged to his grandfather Thror) and rightful place as King Under the Mountain. His relationship with Bilbo is strained at times, but as the story progresses, his greed and officious nature is redeemed.
