After conquering the blockbuster gambit with superheroes and sci-fi, Joss Whedon -- ever the industrious little auteur -- is now putting a contemporary spin on ye olde Shakespearean dramatics. His indie film Much Ado About Nothing was released in theatres earlier this month and can be described as nothing but ambitious. Filmed over the course of just 12 (!!!) days, Much Ado keeps the original Shakespearean language, but updates the plot to a modern setting.

Regular Whedon fans (Whedonites? JossNavy?) will also recognize plenty of staple actors from his other projects, however, if you aren't too familiar with the mapping and makeup of the Whedonverse then you've certainly come to the right place! Without much else ado, here we give you a crash course on the life and times of the Santa Claus of Geekdom, the Founder of Buffytown, the Mayor of Fireflyville, he who is less commonly known as Joss Whedon...
