His appearance in The Wedding Singer did not mark the start of a new career for Billy Idol, but the ‘80s rocker acquits himself nicely in a cameo towards the end of the Adam Sandler romcom. Sandler plays Robbie, the titular wedding singer who recruits Idol and other first class passengers to help him win over Julia (Drew Barrymore), the love of his life, when she turns out to be on the same flight with her obnoxious fiancé. Idol apparently did the cameo in order to thrill his young son Willem who was a big Sandler fan at the time.
