Katniss Everdeen becomes a ruthless warrior in the fight for survival that is The Hunger Games trilogy. She's forced to fend for herself and realise her full potential as a fighter in the post-apocalyptic world of Panem.

Jennifer Lawrence says she can relate to the character of Katniss, especially after her metamorphosis in Catching Fire. "It's hard to say you identify with someone who's facing life and death and war," she told Empire magazine. "But there is the connection in that she doesn't feel like just part of the town anymore. Now everyone treats her as a celebrity... Whereas she still feels like she's part of them."
