After DAVID, Bejoy Nambiar gets set for PIZZA
While he may have won accolades for SHAITAN, his DAVID did not work with the audience. However, director Bejoy Nambiar did make a statement in each of the two films by coming across as one filmmaker who treats cinema as a director's medium than the kind where superstars and actors drive the show.
Says Bejoy, "See, all that I am currently looking at is freedom as a filmmaker who is trying to push the envelope so that more and more different ideas can get accepted. Main yeh nahi sochna chahta ki just because mujhe ek hero-heroine picture banaani hai isliye picture mein yeh superstar hero aur woh glamorous Diva honi chahiye!"
While he is in no haste to announce directorial plans for his next, he is busy making films for sure. One such film is KUKU MATHUR KI JHAND HO GAYI which he has co-produced with Ekta Kapoor.
"Ekta understands the kind of vision I have around my films," he smiles, "Meanwhile my production company is also doing a remake of this Tamil film called PIZZA. We go on floors very soon. Though I am producing it, the film would be directed by someone else. We should be closing formalities with another corporate house very soon."
However before that he has a minor battle to fight at the title stage itself.
"Yes, I am waiting to see if I can actually get this film's title since it is currently held by another filmmaker. Let's see," smiles Bejoy.
