Jackie Shroff: Amrita Singh is the same vibrant lady
AURANGZEB is all set to arrive next weekend and the film is special due to a couple of reasons. First and foremost Jackie Shroff would be seen in a meaty role after a while. Secondly, he and Amrita Singh would be sharing screen space two decades after their last outing together, AAINA Incidentally, both films are Yash Raj productions.
"It was great to catch up with Amrita," says Jackie Shroff, "She is just the same vibrant lady that I knew 20 years back during the days of AAINA. It was a lot of fun to be back on the sets with her. She is one of the finest actresses that we have today in the industry. She is superb and absolutely down to earth. That virtue of hers is what makes her special."
As for the first reason around the film turning out to be special, Jackie smiles, "How meaty is the role is something that you would see next Friday. I can say though that in my heart, every role that I do in every film is meaty enough for me to step in. My criteria around picking a film is the director; if he is good and promising, I do it. Eventually what you see on the screen is a sum total of many factors that come into play. Some roles are good and they leave an impact. I am happy though that filmmakers call me when they believe a role is important and I should be doing it."
Now we really hope that this indeed turns out to be the case with AURANGZEB as well.
