Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer BOMBAY VELVET to release on Christmas 2014
Fox Star Studios has come on board with Phantom Films to produce Anurag Kashyap's next film, BOMBAY VELVET. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma and will go on floors in July 2013. It will be released worldwide on 25th Dec 2014. It is the first film in a trilogy about the city of Bombay set against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and Jazz. Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will play lovers in the story the charts out the evolution of the city of Bombay, through the 50s to early 70s.
An excited Anurag Kashyap says, "BOMBAY VELVET is my first film in a trilogy about Bombay, before it became a metropolis. It's a story that has always fascinated me and we have been developing it for about four years, and I am very excited that now it's fully ready and we begin shoot this year."
Adds Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films, "BOMBAY VELVET is intricately researched and beautifully fictionalized by Anurag as to how one of the greatest cities of the world was created amidst loads of action, romance, pain and huge drama. Amit Trivedi has already started work to compose the music of the film, which will be reminiscent of the golden sound of 60's.
