ISHKQ IN PARIS: Would lucky charm of Paris bring success back for Preity Zinta?
Paris as a city is the epitome of romance and whenever one wants to create an everlasting saga of romance there is no better city than Paris to do it. Who can forget such wonderful romantic sagas like THE ROMAN HOLIDAY, DA VINCI CODE, or for that matter one of the most successful Hindi films shot in Paris AN EVENING IN PARIS. Paris indeed has a setting that injects and induces romance, and with the rich heritage and culture spread around in a carelessly organized way, romance indeed blossoms by the click of the finger.
No wonder, Preity Zinta who has been a symbol of spunky romance in Hindi films since the time she made her debut in DIL SE, spunky as even in her debut movie, she had the guts to question Shah Rukh Khan and he indeed was left gaping for words, and went on to create new paradigms of romance through scores of films that she acted in included KYA KEHNA, KAL HO NA HO etc.
But as the age caught with her perhaps, as also her commitments to the IPL, her film career took backstage. She therefore decided to re-launch her career with a romantic saga ISHKQ IN PARIS. Preity Zinta has completed this film long time ago, but it has been postponed number of times and one only hopes that now it hits the screen.
One thing that Preity Zinta ought to have done and has not done is to promote ISHKQ IN PARIS in the current season of IPL, as the matches of IPL provide a perfect opening to promote a film. Being an owner of a cricket team, obviously Preity Zinta would have the leverage to promote her film through the allotted slots in the stadium.
For Preity Zinta to slot the film for a release now could also be a proposition guided by some success that her team is getting in the IPL and through her interactions and presence during the matches may be she is able to create a visibility and ensure that her film when it releases eventually garners footfall.
ISHKQ IN PARIS would be watched with great anticipation as Preity Zinta has taken it upon herself to carve second acting innings and could set the benchmark for others of his ilk to follow. One only hopes that her experimentation is liked by the audience as there still is quite a lot left in her contemporaries to give it to the audience.
