Will Arjun enjoy a better deal with SATYAGRAHA?
SATYAGRAHA promises to present Arjun Rampal in a different light altogether. As someone who is a small time good and wants to enter the world of politics, Arjun is expected to emerge triumphant in this multi starrer affair by Prakash Jha. He can well be expected to be conscious about the film though since his last major release CHAKRAVYUHA, despite boasting of an interesting script, couldn't quite cover the box office distance.
In fact it is being widely agreed that promotion and marketing are the two aspects that failed the Prakash Jha flick which was hailed by critics but couldn't reach the audience. Considering the fact that he had an author backed role in the film that also reunited him with his RAAJNEETI director Prakash Jha, Arjun must indeed have wanted it do much better commercially as well, isn't it?
"Of course yes", Arjun doesn't blink an eyelid here, "CHAKRAVYUH should have done better. Where we went wrong was really in the marketing part of it. We couldn't create that level of awareness which was so much required for a film of this genre and subject. In fact a lot of people don't even know that it had released. When people are watching it on DVDs today, they are telling me that it is a lovely film. While that is heartening indeed, it is also heartbreaking to realise that not giving it an optimum theatrical arrival was a failure on our part."
Now that he is coming back with Prakash Jha for SATYAGRAHA, Arjun has all the right reasons to believe that the multistarrer with Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Amrita Rao in the lead would manage to fetch a much better response for itself on its 30th August release.
