Rohan Sippy's next on cable internet turf war
Rohan Sippy is getting ready with his next. Based on the cable internet turf war in Mumbai, the film is a light hearted take on the classic DAVID VERSUS GOLIATH legend. Titled SONALI CABLE, the film features Rhea Chakraborty (of MERE DAD KI MARUTI fame) in the lead role.
"The film is about this ordinary girl Sonali who puts her love, life and survival at stake, when she and her ragtag team come in the way of the expansion plans of India's largest corporation. SONALI CABLE wants to establish the growing corporate trend which is crushing small businesses without any scope for co-existence," informs our source.
Also starring Ali Fazal (after FUKREY), lyricist-actor Swanand Kirkire and Raghav Juyal aka Crockroaxz (of 'Dance India Dance' fame), the film sees the coming together of Rohan Sippy and Bhushan Kumar yet again after NAUTANKI SAALA. With NextGen Entertainment joining in, the film is written and directed by debutant Charudutt Acharya.
Says Charudutt, "The underdogs of SONALI CABLE never give up. Their motto 'Apun Kabhi Offline Nahin Jaate' captures the spirit of young aspiring Indians all over."
Adds Ramesh Sippy, "This story of a girl from a broken home who connects people's lives through her internet cables and her spirit really captured our hearts. She brings in a lot of drama which is humorous and has an emotional core."
With music by Devi Shri Prasad, Ankit Tiwari, Mikey McCleary & Falak and lyrics by Kausar Munir, the film is all set to be first release of 2014 as it arrives on 3rd January.
