Ranveer-Deepika starrer RAMLEELA: Most commercial film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali
His last three films, GUZAARISH, SAAWARIYA and BLACK, were slow moving dramas that were presented more as a work of art and considered to be akin a painting being unveiled on the big screen. However when it comes to RAMLEELA, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is said to have kept the pace quite frantic with no moment of pause whatsoever.
"Sanjay has kept the film really fast paced and the entire narrative pattern is such that there is hardly any point where audience would get time to think about anything else," informs a source, "Of course there would be trademark Bhansali moments when protagonist engage in some subtle romantic moments. However, beyond a point there won't be any extended period of time when anything about the film starts appearing laidback."
One can well expect Bhansali to have been conscious about the kind of story telling he wanted to adopt for this Romeo & Juliet tale set in Gujarat. After all, except for BLACK, both SAAWARIYA and GUZAARISH were pin pointed for the ultra-slow narrative that the two films had carried.
The source adds, "None of that would be the case with RAMLEELA and this is something that the First Look promo too has clearly indicated. Other than sheer colours that have caught attention of the viewers, there is so much vivacity and euphoria in there with some high octane dramatic moments that make RAMLEELA stand out as a distinct work by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is clearly his most commercial since a very long time."
One looks forward to that once this co-production between Eros and Sanjay Leela Bhansali with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead releases all over on 15th November 2013.
