Rakesh Roshan back to square one with Hrithik Roshan's KRRISH 3!

There's lot of anxiety around Hrithik Roshan starrer KRRISH 3. And that is evident with the way filmmaker and dad Rakesh Roshan is trying his every bit to grab the attention of the audience for his dearly made film. Rakesh has now preponed the release of Hrithik Roshan's biggest film KRRISH 3, sequel to KOI MIL GAYA and KRRISH, which was scheduled to arrive on November 4. The much touted superhero sci-fi flick, starring Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi, is set to release on 1st November 2013, which happens to be Dhanteras, first day of Diwali.

Well, it is quite surprising on the filmmaker's part, as initially he was hell-bent to release the film post Diwali only, as he was of the belief that the festive period leads to a lean time at the ticket window. In fact, the change in the date was long back suggested by his distributors, exhibitors and overseas associates. They were of the opinion that if the film got released on the Friday, it will enjoy an extended weekend, which has become a norm in Bollywood these days. The film will enjoy two complete weeks at the Box-office, given that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's biggie RAM-LEELA and Kangana Ranaut starrer RAJJO are arriving on November 15. However, Rakesh didn't move with his decision and was still confident about it.

With this sudden change of heart, it only makes one curious to know what made him shift the release. Is he jittery about his biggest venture KRRISH 3 working at Box-office considering the stiff competition? Or he contemplated that the past few seasons of Diwali in Bollywood (which did record-breaking business) have been really good. Right from Shahrukh Khan's OM SHANTI OM to Rohit Shetty's slapstick comedies ALL THE BEST, GOLMAAL series to SRK's big-budgeted RA.ONE or Madhur's FASHION or last year's JAB TAK HAI JAAN and SON OF SARDAAR, Bollywood minted maximum moolah during the festive period of Diwali. Interestingly, if we go by the records, most of them enjoyed extended weekend by releasing pre-Diwali or during Diwali and yield good returns for the monies invested.

When we asked Rakesh Roshan he confirmed the news by saying, "This year, Dhanteras, the first day of Diwali, is on November 1. And it's a holiday for most people. My distributors and exhibitors, even those overseas, wondered why I was not making use of the holidays. Fortunately or unfortunately, it's for the first time in many years that Diwali and Lakshmi Puja are falling on Sunday. No one knows the repercussions of a pre-Diwali release. But since everyone is keen on a Friday release, I'll be releasing KRRISH 3 on November 1."

Well, the saying goes well for Roshans we believe - 'Better Late Than Never'!
