Why is Kangana Ranaut going B-grade?
Bollywood is not a cakewalk for everyone. Not every aspirant becomes a star. But there are few who after a long struggle make excellent debut and then enjoy exceptional success & stardom. But then comes a time when you are suddenly out of the elite league, for which you toiled so hard to achieve it.
It seems, something similar is happening with our lanky Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. She was hailed as the next big thing in Bollywood, when she stepped in films. Though she was initially criticized for her looks and accent, Kangana shut her detractors with her outstanding performance in the films like WOH LAMHE, GANGSTER, LIFE...IN A METRO, FASHION, RAAZ - THE MSYTERY CONTINUES, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI, TANU WEDS MANU. The FASHIONista went on to bag the coveted National Award for her acting prowess in Madhur Bhandarkar's film. We thought the lady is fast inching towards being a classy actress by doing some sensible stuff. Where other actresses were doing regular naach and gaana or dancing around trees or for that matter being used a prop in the films, Kangana had emerged as a performer and started giving Goosebumps to topnotch actresses of Bollywood.
But now looking at her choice of the upcoming film RAJJO, where she plays a mujrewaali, it appears her focus and career is derailed. Though she may have pondered while taking up RAJJO as being an opportunity to join the bandwagon of the likes of Rekha, Vjayanthimala, Meena Kumari, etc, who played mujrewaalis or kothewaalis at one point of time and earned rave reviews for their portrayal, Kangana looks miscast in this outing. The movie smells nothing less than a B grade wannabe masala fare with Kangana Ranaut's overdone expressions and graceless dance!
Well, the actress needs to rethink about where she's headed!
