Akshay Kumar: Amitabh Bachchan is the BOSS of film industry
With Akshay Kumar jet hopping from one city to another, we managed to catch hold of him for a quick rapid fire round with anything and everything related to BOSS. This is what he had to say.
Who is the Boss at your home?
My wife; the only job a man could never be a good 'Boss' at. To be good at love, motherhood, authority, respect, discipline, compassion, scheduling, homework, sports, birthday parties and juggling a job with kids and a busy husband - I mean 'Men', come on, we wouldn't stand a chance. We may be Bosses outside the house but every Boss has a Boss (winks).
On the sets of your films, who is usually the Boss?
The Producer!! No Producer, no Money. No money, no Director. No Director, no camera. No camera no film. Can you see where this is leading yet? We all bow down to the Producer. I have always tried to make sure that I am a Producer's Actor. So I hope all my Bosses give me 'Employee of the Year' (smiles).
When was the last time you didn't like your Boss during filmmaking?
About a fortnight ago, I asked (producer) Ashwin Varde for ten white horses to be in my 'Har Kisiko Nahi Milta' song, but he only gave me five (smiles). Typical producer's trick which is, whatever you ask for, they always seem to cut it in half!
When was the last time you really liked your Boss during filmmaking?
About a fortnight ago, when I asked for 10 white horses. I am so glad he only got me five. They were wild and free, beautiful but deadly to handle! Like I always say, 'The Boss Is Always Right!'. Well, thankfully.
What kind of Boss are you to your team?
I am everything they need me to be.
What is it you don't want a Boss to be?
Too friendly. A Boss is a Boss, he is not your friend, he is not your confidant, he is not your keeper. He is the one you wake up for, the one you strive to please, the one who feeds your family inevitably. Never mess with the hand that feeds you.
Who is the BOSS in the industry?
The one man who doesn't think he is! Mr. Bachchan himself - the Father, the Actor, the Mentor, the Legend.
