Sanam Puri: There couldn't be a better start than GORI TERE PYAAR MEIN's 'Dhat Teri Ki'
While the audiences are loving the rebellious Imran Khan - Esha Gupta in GORI TERE PYAAR MEIN's club anthem 'Dhat Teri Ki' , singer Sanam Puri is overwhelmed with the response his first Bollywood song has received.
Ask Sanam about his musical journey, and he shares, "I was 6 when I started learning music. As I grew up, I got serious with my music lessons. When I was in college, I participated in competitions. I was part of the SQS band that eventually went on to win the Times Music competition. The SQS Supastars was followed by my Samar-Sanam music album which gave the superhit song 'Teri Aankhon Se' ."
Coming from a non-filmy background, how did he manage to sing for Dharma Productions movie, and Sanam reveals, "My manager Ben got me in contact with Vishal-Shekhar, who heard my song 'Teri Aankhon Se' and they loved it. Vishal-Shekhar immediately asked me to come to the studio and said we have one song in our mind for you - 'Dhat Teri Ki'."
Now that the song has been a chartbuster, what do you have to say? "Well it really feels good. I couldn't get a better start in Bollywood than 'Dhat Teri Ki'. I am very happy. The fact that Vishal-Shekhar liked my voice, in itself is a big deal. But this is just the beginning. I have to work a lot now," concluded an overjoyed Sanam.
Directed by Punit Malhotra and Produced by Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor-Imran Khan starrer GORI TERE PYAAR MEIN releases on November 22, 2013.
