Clash of 'Students' Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra averted
Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, who have shared some good camaraderie not just during the days of STUDENT OF THE YEAR but also post that, as seen in the numerous commercials of a cola, were surprisingly all set for a clash with each other at the box office.
Their THE VILLAIN and HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA had almost come close to a face-off on 27th June.
This was a very recent development and shocking to say the least. Even when the two films were earlier separated by a week, it seemed like a rush, but still manageable. However with THE VILLAIN deciding to move ahead by a week from its earlier decided 20th June release date, it surprised many, more so since the respective films are produced by Ekta Kapoor (THE VILLAIN) and Karan Johar (HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA) who have been on the brink of forming a professional alliance with BADTAMEEZ DIL.
Moreover, Alia features in HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA whereas THE VILLAIN is being directed by her cousin brother Mohit Suri. Hence, if the two films would have clashed, quite a few heads would have turned within the family as well.
Thankfully though, the clash has been averted now, what with Karan Johar making a move too and pushing the film ahead by a few weeks. Putting all doubts to rest, he posted on a micro-blogging site that HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA would be arriving on 11th July, hence pushing the film ahead by a fortnight.
Incidentally, while THE VILLAIN would enjoy a solo release on 27th June, HUMPTY SHARMA... would have Abhishek Bachchan's ALL IS WELL for company on 11th July.
