Shiv Darshan had reservations about Hasleen Kaur for KARLE PYAAR KARLE
Not many would admit this but Shiv Darshan hasn't shied away from stating what went in his mind when he was about to kick-start shooting for his debut film KARLE PYAAR KARLE. Apparently, he was unsure if the beauty pageant winner would manage to get it perfect right from day one of the shoot.
"After auditioning quite a few girls, producer Suneel Darshan and director Rajesh Pandey felt that Hasleen was the right girl to be cast opposite Shiv. However, there wasn't much time between her coming on board and the film's shooting to kick-start. While all were confident that she would deliver goods, Shiv was just anxious about how fast would the duo bring on-screen chemistry," informs a source.
When contacted, Shiv didn't deny what happened in the past.
"To be honest, initially I did have reservations since there was a gap of just five days between her being signed and sets being mounted for the film. My apprehension was that while I knew the script inside out, she was new to the set up. Acting has to be give and take, more so when your film has a romantic setting. I wondered if we would hit it off from day one itself," says Shiv, who himself waited patiently after four-five years of grooming before facing the camera.
As luck would have it, Hasleen turned out to be the girl for the job as she got the flavor of the film right away.
"The moment we did our first shot together, I was like 'wow, this girl knows her job. She was absolutely fine and knew the core grammar of filmmaking. We had to exchange a comical banter on screen and what she did was music to my ears. It was all so smooth. I didn't even feel that we were acting, it was all just flowing," Shiv continues his appreciation for Hasleen.
Now we look forward to the final outcome when KARLE PYAAR KARLE hits the screens this Friday.
