Arjun Kapoor: Difficult to shoot 2 STATES and GUNDAY together
Though 2 STATES is releasing a couple of months after GUNDAY, lead actor Arjun Kapoor had actually shot for both the films simultaneously. With him playing a ruffian in the Yash Raj film and then turning into a softie for the Sajid Nadiadwala & Karan Johar production, it was some transition that Arjun had to go through practically every week.
"It was difficult to switch on and off between two different worlds. At times you don't know how the schedules would turn out to be and you have to instantly connect with the character as is the demand of the day. But then that is the part of being an actor," says Arjun who had done just two films before this - ISHAQZAADE and AURANGZEB.
Thankfully for him, all the guidance from directors Ali Abbas Zafar and Abhishek Varman came in handy.
"Yes, I would like to thank them both," says Arjun, "They had tremendous clarity about what they wanted. That was helpful as I never had that pressure ki main yeh scene theek se kar paaonga ki nahi. Moreover, visually too, both the films are very different. In GUNDAY I was wearing these safari suits and shooting people in the middle of all these explosions. I was playing a fictitious character from an era gone by. On the other hand 2 STATES is real and in today's times. I trimmed my hair, wore T-Shirt and jeans and reduced the volume of my voice. I automatically get into a different world and setting."
With FINDING FANNY being shot around the same time, Arjun had another world to contend with as well. However, that is one tale waiting to be told on another day.
