Akshay Kumar's 72 MILES... wins Best Film Jury at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival



After winning 4 National Awards this season, Viacom18 Motion Pictures adds yet another prestigious award to its kitty, but this time for its regional movie - 72 MILES- EK PRAVAS. Having won the best film- jury awards at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2014 held on 30 April 2014 in Noida, Delhi NCR, 72 MILES- EK PRAVAS has beaten exciting films like KOAN OF SPRING (France), GABRIEL (Poland), RANJHANAA (India), IN NOMINEE SATAN (Italy) etc.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Ajit Andhare- COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures said, ''Entering Regional market was a strategic decision for the studio. Winning this award makes us feel gratified that we have made an impact in the Marathi film industry that has such a rich heritage.''

A hard-hitting, poignant tale of a young boy who makes his journey into self-actualization against the backdrop of a rustic India, 72 MILES... explores a beautiful, coming of age journey for the 13-year-old boy Ashok and the companionable relationships he makes through his journey.

The nuanced film is jointly produced by Akshay Kumar's Grazing Goat Pictures and Viacom18 Motion Pictures, and is directed by late Rajiv Patil. The film is based on Ashok Vatkar's autobiography.
