Bollywood Box-Office Report Of The Week



This week will witness the release of one of Bollywood's most (if not the most) successful actor-director jodi's next outing, SINGHAM RETURNS, the follow up to the team's cult hit, SINGHAM. Needless to say that the Rohit Shetty directed, Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer, SINGHAM RETURNS, is all set to embark on a big, if not huge start across India.

Meanwhile, the Farhad-Sajid directed Akshay- Tamannah starrer, ENTERTAINMENT, which started on a good to decent note, picked up well over the weekend. The film also maintained during the dreaded Monday, and is likely to end the first week netting in the 53-55 crore range. The real test for the film though will be in the second week, as it will have to face a mighty opposition in the form of SINGHAM RETURNS. Unfortunately, ENTERTAINMENT has not impressed in the overseas grossing £125,000 from UK and $300,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (8-10 August).

Adding another 50 crore, KICK has netted a whopping 210 crore in two weeks from India and is a blockbuster. The film is Salman's biggest overseas hit grossing $11.50m, with £1,210,000 from UK and $2,400,000 from the US, till the third weekend (8-10 August).

Concluding with Dharma Productions' Varun-Alia starrer, HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA, the film managed to add another crore, thus netting 76 crore in four weeks from India and is a hit plus.
