Neil on 3G: Scary to see gadgets taking over
Less than a month remains for the arrival of 3G and for the film's central protagonist Neil Nitin Mukesh, the countdown has begun. While one still waits to see the kind of twists and turns that this horror thriller with a difference has to offer, one looks forward to how technology plays a major role in the proceedings here. Reason being that as suggested by the film's title, 3G as a technology drives the show in a major way here.
"In the days of MMS, SMS and 3G, the speed of internet is so fast that no one even gets to know what happens when. Technology has an uncanny way of surprising you even when you are the inventor. At times, it ends up consuming you even though you believe that you are controlling it all. In fact I sometimes notice myself to be so engrossed in my gadgets that the entire night goes off and I don't realise. Really, gadgets are taking us over and personally for me too it is scary on that front," says Neil.
It is this scare factor that is the backbone of 3G which marks the directorial debut of Sheershak Anand and Shantanu Ray Chhibber. They have made sure though that the film isn't entirely a technology centric affair.
"Yes, technology is there but it is beautifully utilised and very well placed with the characters," says a source close to the makers, "Eventually, 3G is not a gizmo or gadget oriented film. It is basically about two protagonists and what they end up facing in life due to presence of certain horror elements amidst them."
A co-production of Sunil Lulla and Viki Rajani, the film is all set to release all over on 15th March.
