Cohen to play Freddie Mercury in new biopic
London: Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly busy taking up singing lessons as he is getting ready to play the role of the flamboyant singer Freddie Mercury in a new film.
The 41-year-old actor will be co-starring with 'Gossip Girl' star Blake Lively, who will be playing the role of the Queen frontman's former girlfriend Mary Austin, The Sun reported.
Insiders on the biopic, that is due to be filmed later this year, have revealed that even though the 'Borat and Bruno' star has been working hard to copy the British musician's posh accent, he's not yet decided if his own voice will feature in singing segments.
The source added that the comedian is also studying hours of Queen concert footage and private videos of Freddie in reflective and sombre mood and working with vocal coaches in Hollywood to get the character right.
A Hollywood source added that Cohen is a huge Queen fan and is focused on getting Mercury's mannerisms, style and speech perfect.
