Gal Gadot to Play Wonder Woman in 'Batman Vs Superman'
Los Angeles: Israeli actress Gal Gadot has been cast as the iconic Wonder Woman in Ben Affleck-Henry Cavill starrer 'Batman Vs Superman'.
The 28-year-old actress will play the role of the strong, Amazonian Princess opposite Affleck as Batman and Cavill, who reprises his role as the man of steel, reported Us magazine.
Gadot is best known for her role as Gisele Harabo in three films in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise.
"Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role," director Zack Snyder said in a statement released by Warner Bros.
Gadot won Miss Israel title in 2004 and has served in the Israeli army from 2005 to 2007.
She also played Tom Cruise's ex girlfriend in 'Knight & Day'.
Amy Adams will return as Lois Lane, while Laurence Fishburne will play Perry White. The film will arrive in theaters on July 17, 2015.
Gadot took to Twitter to share her excitement after bagging the coveted role.
