Thrash metal band Slayer to perform in India

One of the "Big Four" thrash metal acts alongwith Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax, Slayer was founded in 1981 and has four members - guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King, bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and drummer Dave Lombardo.
The two-time Grammy winners will be performing in Bangalore on October 20 as part of Vladivar Rock'N India, the annual international rock music festival.
Being one of the most influential and distinctive bands of the 1980's, Slayer's rise to fame was their 1986 release "Reign in Blood" and they went on to cut eleven studio albums, four of which have received gold certification in the US.
Slayer's musical traits involve fast tremolo picking, double bass drumming, and shouted (or chanted) vocals.
Their popular tracks include "Raining Blood", "Angel of Death", "Seasons in the Abyss" and "South of Heaven".
