Salman Khan might just be one of the most infuriatingly puzzling characters our film industry has ever produced. Loved by his fans and colleagues as a softie with a heart of gold, this action-cum-romantic hero with a penchant for being topless also wears a bad boy badge. His long career in Bollywood (he debuted in 1988 with 'Biwi Ho to Aisi') has been checkered with hits, flops, romances, skirmishes and lots and lots of controversy.
In the late 80s, Salman was involved with Sangeeta Bijlani who allegedly broke up with him after catching him with Pakistani-Iraqi actress Somy Ali (who's now in the US making films on women's issues, in case anybody's curious). After Somy left him (reasons not clear), Salman started seeing Aishwarya Rai. Their relationship ended in 2001, amidst rumours of physical and verbal abuse and infidelity. Two years later, reports of a romance between Salman and a much younger Katrina began to surface and currently the two make one of the most handsome couples in Bollywood.
Salman has also had more than his share of legal troubles - from being involved in illegal hunting to his car accident in 2002 that killed one person in Mumbai. For the last couple of years though, he's been relatively controversy free and is often associated with his charity, Being Human.
