Mani Ratnam bowled over by ‘Subrahmanyapuram’

Mani Ratnam, busy with the making of ‘Asokavanam’ in Tamil and Hindi, watched Sasikumar’s ‘Subramaniapuram’ recently and was  so impressed with the film  that he called up Sasikumar from the theatre itself  and congratulated the newcomer.

He has reportedly told Sasikumar that he would like to have a detailed discussion with the latter.  Mani Ratnam’s praise had Sasikumar over the moon with joy.

Mani Ratnam’s bilingual was being shot in Ooty when it had to be stopped due to the flash strike by local taxi drivers.  It was during this break that Mani watched ‘Subramaniapuram’.
