Tamannaah in ‘Paiyaa’; settles for less

Tamannaah, the replacement of Nayantara in Lingusamy’s ‘Paiyaa’, has settled for a fee of Rs 50 lakh, sources say.
Nayantara, one of the highest paid actresses in south India, had demanded Rs 1.25 crore for acting in the film and the makers had agreed to it. But, later, Lingusamy had reportedly requested the Malayali siren to slash her remuneration to which she objected and finally backed out of the project.
The dispute between Nayantara and Linguswamy is pending with the Tamil Film Producers’ Council as the director has complained that the actress refuses to return Rs 25 lakh she was paid as advance amount for ‘Paiyaa’.
For ‘Paruthiveeran’ fame Karthi, the hero in ‘Paiyaa’, the film may prove to be a welcome change of image. ‘Paiyaa’ is produced by Linguswamy’s brother Bose under the banner of Tirupathi Pictures.
