Teenager directs ‘Kathal Thozhi’

Malayalam film ‘Apoorva’, directed by the 18-year-old Nithin Ramakrishnan, is all set to be remade into Tamil as ‘Kathal Thozhi’.

The young director, who is also writing the story and screenplay for the film, has already commenced shooting for the remake at Ooty and Coonoor. Produced by Sree Saravanabhava Moves, ‘Kathal Thozhi’ will have Satish (whose debut film ‘Kulir 100 Degrees’ is getting ready for release) and newcomer Archana in the lead. Vimala Raman, Kalabhavan Mani and Senthil, who were there in the original, would be part of ‘Kathal Thozhi’ too.

The film on teenage love and has a bunch of plus two students as central characters. Ratan Chandrasekar is the dialogue-writer and V.Tashi scores the music.  Thanu Karthick, Uma Subramaniam, Nellai Bharathi and Murugan Manthiram pen the lyrics.
