‘Paiyaa’ postponed again

Lingusamy’s ‘Paiyaa’ is in trouble again. The big budget film, starring Karthi and Tamannaah, has come to a standstill as the hero has been forced to finish ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ before he commits himself fully to ‘Paiyaa’.

Shooting for Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil…’ has been going on for more than two years. Karthi, after his sensational debut in Ameer Sultan’s ‘Paruthiveeran’, has not been able to work in any other film as the shoot for ‘Aayirathil…’ dragged on and on. It was during a big gap that Suriya’s ‘thampi’ signed up for ‘Paiyaa’.

The Producers’ Council has told Karthi in no uncertain terms that he will have to finish the remaining portions of Selvaraghavan film before proceeding with ‘Paiyaa’.  So, the next schedule Lingusamy’s film would only begin in February.

Just like Karthi, Lingusamy also seems to be in hard times. Earlier, Nayantara had backed out of the film as the film took too long to take off and she refused to part with Rs 25 lakh she was given as advance amount. The dispute is pending before the Producers Council.
