In the off-beat 'Daivanamathil' (2004), Bhavana plays Sameera, a naïve young Muslim girl, with dreams of a wonderful future with a smart young man, Anwar. Her dreams are shattered, when Anwar, becomes a Jihadi. Bhavana gave an intensely mind blowing performance, winning the State award for Second Best Actress.
