For Gopika, 'Chanthupottu' (2005) was a turning point, as it was a major B.O. grosser. She played a young girl, Maalu, among the fisher folk, who is passionately in love with an effeminate man, Radha (Dileep). Gopika gave a fantastic performance in the movie.
