Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942, in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Harivanshrai Bachchan had planned to name his firstborn 'Inquilab' (which means 'revolution') before choosing Amitabh ("brilliance unlimited"). Incidentally, AB brought both revolution and brilliance to Indian Cinema!
