It was a romance like no other. The Beckhams, as they are now famously known, sent the world into a dizzy with what seemed like a near-perfect union.

Both superstars in their own right, this couple were a match made in A-list heaven. While David is a world renowned soccer player, Victoria is an ex-Spice Girl, adoringly called 'Posh'. Their star statuses would go on to build a mini-empire encompassing soccer academies, perfume deals, fashion lines, billion-dollar mansions et al.

David explains their relationship best in 'Beckham: Both Feet on the Ground: An Autobiography', saying, "My wife picked me out of a soccer sticker book. And I chose her off the telly ... It felt straight away like we'd always been meant to be together."

And 13 years on, the celebrity courtship of David and Victoria Beckham continue to be in the limelight, albeit with no lack of love and companionship between the two.
