Salma wanted to be an actress ever since she saw 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' when she was just five. She was 23 when she landed a role on the popular Mexican telenovela, 'Teresa', in 1989. The series made her a huge star in Mexico. She left both the show and the country in 1990, for Los Angeles.
