On the one hand was stupendous successes like 'Poovellam Un Vasam' and 'Villain' and on the other were lackluster projects like 'Red', 'Raja', 'Anjaneya' and 'Jana'. He prepared himself for a comeback losing some 20 kg for 'Paramasivan', continuing the mixed streak of super-hits like 'Varalaru' and super-duds like 'Aalwar'.
