Ministry sources said that in an episode of the reality show titled 'Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega' aired on September 14, 2009, Sony TV showed a participant putting a snake into one of his nostrils and then bringing it out of his mouth and putting it back into his mouth and taking it out of his nostril.
The visuals of the programme were found to be offending against good taste by the ministry. They also appeared to inflict cruelty on snakes, inciting other viewers to try these tricks, thus affecting young children, the ministry noted.
Officials said that the visuals were not suitable for unrestricted public exhibition.
