The channel reportedly obliged. But now there is a buzz that singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan has asked for an even higher amount than Reshammiya.
According to a source from the production house, "Yes, Himesh has charged a bomb but Mahadevan has quoted an even higher amount and the channel has obliged him too. Star Plus has pinned its hopes on the show and it has roped in big faces to retain lost ground. The channel didn't want to take any chances and lose out on any big names."
"These are the most expensive mentors on the show. Apart from the the war as far as the price is concerned it is believed that the two aren't good friends either. It is evident that the Himesh and Mahadevan aren't really fond of each other and they share cold vibes. Even at the recently held press conference to announce the show the two musicians avoided each other. And it was evident to onlookers that they were not even on polite speaking terms. Even during the rehearsals they dont acknowledge each other's presence. We are clueless as to what triggered the animosity but this might work in favour of the show as it is always interesting to watch two acclaimed music directors have a war of words on a reality show", adds our source.
