Mumbai: There is no doubt that crime show 'C.I.D.' has a huge fan following, and recently Dayanand Shetty, who essays Senior Inspector Daya in the popular show, tasted fans' frenzy in Ahmedabad.

The cast was in the city to shoot an episode during the international kite flying competition and the fans went berserk when Daya stepped out of his vanity van.

The crowd got so out of control that the shoot came to a halt on the first day. Later, Daya clicked photos with his female fans.

"The Ahmedabad shoot was wonderful. Initial two days were like mad, we were not able to control the public," said Daya adding that there were about 50,000 people.

'C.I.D.' airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
