West Indies tour of India confirmed

The West Indies tour of India has been confirmed after the West Indies Cricket Board approved of the same, reports ESPNcricinfo.

West Indies tour of India confirmed

“The West Indies Cricket Board today confirmed that the West Indies team will tour India in November. The tour will include a two Test series and three One Day Internationals.

The WICB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India agreed to utilise the mutually available window in November for the tour,” the WICB said in a statement.

“The full India tour schedule will be released following final agreement by the two boards.”

The West Indies will play a three day warm-up fixture followed by two Tests and three ODIs between 31st October and 27th November as a result of which, India's tour of South Africa will be shortened.

India was to begin the series with a tour game on November 18.

However with the West Indies now visiting after the ODIs against Australia, it is likely that the South Africa series will being only after November 30.

As a result, the earlier scheduled two T20Is, seven ODIs and two Tests will surely have to be snipped.

Cricket South Africa had earlier released a statement that they would incur heavy losses if the series was shortened.
